If your mini was totaled today (God forbid) what would you replace it with?

1st gen Mini Cooper S JCW. I have to have a 1st gen Mini :)
There really isn't a small car that feels like this Miwi. Exceptional handling, amazing sound (I've yet to hear a better sounding 4 cyl), good shifter feel. I've driven a lotta small fun cars but this guy is right at the top of the list for me.

I have always been intrigued by minis, but kinda afraid of cost/reliability.
I would love a countryman (car, not a guy from the country). Van doors rule. An AWD model would be a great next car for me.

Early evening iirc. I got the shot last year when I was changing the supercharger pulley on the Mini.

The 2nd and 3rd gen cars are costly to maintain from what I’ve heard (looks at Mini guy). And those are the only ones which have the clubman (i think thats what you mean) variant.
The 1st gen S is pretty reliable. I bought mine with 160k miles and its at 210 right now. It hasn’t broken the bank yet.

Oh, yeah that’s what I meant. 210,000miles!! That’s not bad.
The fiesta at 112,000km or 69,000 miles is the most miled out car I’ve ever owned.
Most people are surprised when they learn the 86 D100 has less than 100,000 miles

1st gens have Chrysler designed motors so they just keep working :) 210k is quite good considering I’m putting 50% more boost than stock thru the motor.
Wtf your D100 has less than 100k...also, my workplace has a Cummins D100 as their work truck :)

Nice! Most if not all the D100's that I've run into are 225s!

69k miles

How much rust is on that Toyota?
I’m waiting myself for my new tires to be installed. I found some Nokian Rotiiva tires at Walmart for a decent price. Fortunately there's an IHOP next door. Much better than the waiting room at the Walmart.

My 2013 MCS is at 85k and is the most reliable car I’ve had since my Mazda3

Mo dified Eg Honda Civics come close but at the very least it’s going to need a turbo or engine swap with all new suspension.

Cant recommend a 2nd gen, the n14 is a lemon by most metrics

Where were you seeing that the 3rd gens are costly to maintain? Everything I have seen has said they are easily the most reliable generation of Mini.

Have you had to do the crank pully yet?

A couple of friends and online too. Compared to the 2nd gens they are definitely better.

Nope not yet. It looks accessible tho.

Haven't seen much. Its decently clean

Right. Mine only needed a CAI and a cat back to be this fun.

You pull out the side engine mount and then lower the engine to pull it. Getting it off is hard.

Ooh. I hope I don't have to do it...
